Presidential Aspitant Jimi Wanjigi seeks to stop Elections by delaying the Printing of Presidential ballot papers, Cites a commission drowned in illegalities29th June 2022

Safina Party presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi wants the court to stop the 2022 election until IEBC is “cleaned up of the illegalities and Unconstitutionalism” marring the commission.

Wanjigi, who stormed out of the IEBC disputes resolution committee after the tribunal “unconstitutionally” upheld Chebukati’s decision to stop Wanjigi’s presidential candidature on grounds that he didn’t have a university degree certificate.

Wanjigi, has moved to the high court in Nairobi to seek conservatory orders, halting the printing of ballot papers that is slated to be on Thursday 30th June.

Through renowned lawyer Fred Ngatia, Wanjigi has told the court that he has the required university education qualifications and that Chebukati’s move to disqualify him smacks of discrimination and is ill motivated.

Wanjigi has cited a 2013 judgment in favour of IEBC that allowed outgoing governor Hassan Ali Joho to vie on the strengths of his academic transcripts that ruled a degree is a process and not just a certificate.

At the time, Justice Isaac Lenaola, now supreme court judge, ruled that a graduation ceremony could not be used as a measure of having attained university education.

Wanjigi has told the court, that the Judgment has never been challenged and thus remains to be law.

Justice Jairus Ngaah wants IEBC to make it’s submissions by 3PM today, to enable the court give further directions.

Wanjigi has previously accused president Kenyatta of being behind his troubles, saying the president doesn’t want him on the ballot.

ALL MONIES IS CORRUPT MONIES IS FROM SINNERS AND WE WILL ACCEPT ALL SAYS BISHOP KARIUKI

By Clive Ayuko

27th June 2022

“… The media has accused us (the church) of sanitising corrupt monies. That we should accept some monies brought to us by some people and not accept that offered by others… I want to say that all monies brought before the church is corrupt monies for money takes the character of the owner” Everyday sinners come to the church for healing and restoration and forgiveness”

This was a message by Bishop Mark Kariuki who spoke during a forum dubbed;”… Joint Consultative Forum Between the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) and Religious Leaders on Promotion of Integrity During the 2022 General Elections” organized by the Ethics and Anti Corruption at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies today. The forum was organized in light of incidences of corruption which has proliferated over the years.

The church in Kenya has been accused in the past of recieving monies from corrupt politicians. A number of resolutions were arrived at in the forum to include: sealing loopholes during budget formulation which aid corruption, formulation of a value driven education system, partnering with the government to end corruption and setting up of parallel mechanisms aiding the efforts of the government in fighting corruption and restoring the basic unity of society, the family which the Chief Executive Officer of the EACC Mr Twalib Mbarak said has since collapsed.

My experience in Russia, the priceless memories and why I’d love to go back

June 22nd 2022

By By Sports Journalist Amos Abuga

I miss Russia because of Moscow and there are so many reasons to love Moscow! Architecture of different styles and Epochs the most splendid metro in the world, decorated with mosaics and marble countless restaurants with cuisines from across the globe and, of course, 24/7 energy dwellers. It’s true that Moscow never sleeps.

Besides, there are also other beautiful cities in Russia: St. – Petersburg, Kuzan to name a few, – all of them are worthy of leaving a piece of your heart in them, I was privileged to be part of the kids social program Football for Friendship that coincided with the 2018 World Cup that was held in Russia, that still remains one of my highlights as a journalist.

It’s impossible to disagree! There are many beautiful places in the world, but where else can you see endless forests like in the Altai region, the cold, but romantic sandy dunes of the Baltic, the never melting glaciers and never frozen lakes of Yakutia, the imposing and majestic mountains of the Caucasus or the ice caves of the Urals? All these magical places are located just in just one country, and this is a very understandable reason to love it.

Contrary to popular opinion that Russians are aloof, I think that is far from the truth. Traveling within Russia, foreign tourists often note, that even if a local does not understand their language, he still will be looking for a way to help you. What hospitality! In the process I made life long friendships.
We are also well aware of the enormous contributions made by Russian poets, composers, authors and scientists to European civilisation, and that can be er be shoved aside.

It is sad what is happening between Russia and Ukraine at the moment, it has definitely affected and inconvenienced so many people and made travel difficult, we hope for calm and normalcy, deep down I will definitely love to tour Russia again in future.

End!!

“.. I was just 10 years old when the vehicle ferrying me to hospital while in Kitale was ambushed 14 years ago at the height of the Post election violence of 2007. We escaped by a whisker. And it was the grace of God that we survived”. ” I am not 24 years” ; Said Marte Wawa. NAIROBI YOUTH COME OUT TO SUPPORT IGATHE GOVERNORSHIP BID

Nairobi youths have declared their support for the Azimio La Umoja city’s gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe in the forthcoming general elections slated for August 9th, 2022.

“We will ensure that we campaign 100 per cent for Igathe as our preferred gubernatorial candidate because he has our interests at heart. We have been excluded for a long time and we are not happy with the exclusion from various Nairobi County government opportunities but with Igathe at City Hall we are sure the youth of this county will reap from the benefits of his leadership,” they said.

They made the declaration in a youth meeting with Igathe where they endorsed his candidature to be Nairobi’s next boss.

Igathe could not hide his joy after getting the nod from the youth and gave them an assurance that he will in return not disappoint them.

“Thanks for having that trust believing in me. In return as your humble servant I will ensure that the cries, complains and mourning of the youth will be a thing of the past and never in my administration. I will be a source of your happiness,” said Igathe.

The youths said after a lot of soul searching, research on candidates and going through manifestos of various gubernatorial candidates they found Igathe to be best and most suited to suit the interests of the youth in Nairobi.

Raila Odinga’s strong man Absalom Odhiambo Onyango popularly known as Matakweyi or Matach a social activist and the man behind viral videos that support the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leaders Raila Odinga said as the youth they have met and unanimously agreed to support Igathe.

“Voting for Igathe will ensure that our Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga when elected to State House has a reliable foot soldier on the ground as Governor whom they can work together in restoring Nairobi’s lost glory and bring sanity in the city,” said Matakweyi who is vying to be the Korogocho ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) on an ODM ticket.

Embakasi youth leader James Masese said they have settled on Igathe as he has stood out to be a symbol of unity in Nairobi which has people from different tribal, social and religious backgrounds.

“The main reasons as to why we have settled on Polycarp it’s because he has involved the youths beyond tribal lines in his campaigns and he is the only aspirant who has visited different areas in the city asking people what they want to be done to them while the candidates, his opponents are full of themselves moving around telling us what they want to do to us which most don’t even resonate with us, they are out of touch with the reality at the grassroot, yet they pretend to be agents of youth empowerment” said Masese.

Charles Brian Daddi a youth from Dagoreti said they needed a role models to mould them a virtue and quality they have seen in Igathe and Raila compared to the Kenya Kwanza leaders even in City who have questionable characters which are a bad example to the youth.

“As the youth in Nairobi we shall send Sakaja home so that he can have enough time to back to school to complete his studies and take Igathe to City Hall to work for us,” said Daddi.

Makadara Youth leader Rose Apur Abach called on the youth to back Igathe’s bid saying he is has outlined in his agenda how he will create employment for them and empower the youth out of poverty.

“Igathe looks genuine as he has been consistent about what he says including his history which has not been shrouded in controversy compared to his rivals whom we do not trust to lead us,” she said.

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE WANJIGI WANTS POLLS AGENCY BOSS CROSS EXAMINED IN COURT

By Clive Ayuko

Nairobi, Kenya 16th June 2022

The Disputes Resolutions Committee of the Elections Agency the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission IEBC is set to make a decision on whether the Poll agency chairman Mr Wafula Chebukati is set to appear for a cross examination in a Kenya Court of law.

Wanjigi the wants Chebukati cross examined in light of the decision by the chairman to purge his name among those shortlisted to vie as President in the General elections to be held barely two months away.

The SAFINA Party Presidential candidate Jimmy Wanjigi through lawyers Osiemo and WANYONYI advocates and Commissioner of Oaths had earlier written to the poll agency demanding the presence of the Polls agency Chairman Wafula Chebukati to answer to questions touching on him as the National Returning officer and as a human being.

Wanjigi wants to put Chebukati in the dock and question his move to purge his name from the presidential candidates’ shortlist.

A letter written by Wanjigi’s lawyers Osiemo WANYONYI and Company advocates to the poll agency dated 14th June 2022 states; ” We wish to cross-examine the chairman, Wafula Chebukati, on the date of the hearing. Please make arrangements for his attendance and appearance for purposes of cross-examination,”

Wanjigi, an established businessman making a stab at the presidency for the first time after falling out with Odinga and his ODM Party, has accused president Kenyatta of blocking him from the ballot.

Wanjigi, is questioning IEBC’s move to strike him out contrary to a 2013 High court judgment that allowed candidates to submit transcripts where the physical certificate was not readily available.

It is that judgment that saw IEBC clear Hassan Joho to vie for the Mombasa governor’s position.

Wanjigi is arguing, that IEBC has been discriminative and unfair in removing him from the list on ‘unfounded and completely made up” grounds.

Willis Otieno, Wanjigi’s running mate, pegs the cross-examination on Rule 17 of the Elections Dispute Resolutions Rules, adding that “IEBC is trying to depart from its own law, which is suspicious and telling”
