CUT HELB LOANS TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND INCREASE SAME IN TECHNICAL COLLEGES SAYS RUTO

Speaking at the Villa Rosa Kempinsky Hotel late yesterday evening during the unveiling of the winners of the third Africa Tech Challenge ( a corporate social responsibility programme funded by the Chinese firm AVIC International) the Deputy president called for the need to train more technicians and handy people. Words that were also echoed by the Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr. Fred Matiang’i who also cited the viability of funding students in technical institutions who are in short supply and who will be able to pay back the loans on time by earning money through provision of services related to these technical skills i.e Plumbing,  welding etc. Unlike University graduates most of whom are unemployed, unemployable and take a significantly longer time to pay back the loans.
