YOUR FAVORITE YOUTUBE VIDEO MAY NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE

Imagine logging on to the YouTube channel to watch a music video that reminds you of the time of your youth, or a love that is no more, or a childhood memory that can only be evoked through listening to a particular song or watching music video.  That particular music video that is so important to you may be no more if proposals by the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) to further censor YouTube content available in Kenya gets the right of way. The boards Chief executive Mr Ezekiel Mutua termed this new decree as geared towards safeguarding the moral values of the country’s populace from perceived external influences brought about by globalization. In a move that is likely to leave many furious,  the Classification board has also put on notice a number of Kenyan musicians (Katombi – also Don Juan) whose stage names appear to be in contravention of the boards policy statement (safeguarding moral values for Kenya’s prosperity). In addition, the Chief executive has also put on notice artistes with lyrics  glorifying matters coitus.
