CHURCH DOES NOT SANITIZE CORRUPTION MONIES CLERGY DISMISS RAILA CLAIM

By Clive Ayuko

Nairobi, Kenya 11 December 2020

The Church and Clergy Association of Kenya, the Umbrella body representing the Church and men of the cloak in Kenya early this afternoon condemned utterances by Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who they claim said that the Church did not give its views on the Building Bridges Initiative and that the Church is being used by politicians to sanitize corruption monies.

From right Apostle Petros Mwita, Prophet Robert Ouma,  Bishop Hudson Ndeda ( Chairman), Bishop Godfrey Gichuki, Rev Jane Mwihaki and Bishop Simon Kihui during the press briefing. Image courtesy whistling African.

Speaking at Biblica house along Dennis Pritt Road Nairobi; Chairman of the Association Bishop Hudson Ndeda said both claims were false as the Church did indeed present its views to the Building Bridges Secretariat on 5th March 2020 at the Laico Regency.

Bishop Ndeda however argued that most of these views to include: lifting of existing moratorium on registration of religious bodies, separation of the church from the societies and clearing the way for self regulation, Christian Courts and review of the Marriage Act and creation of additional constituencies and the Office of the Prime Minister and Two Deputies which the association is opposed to was not captured in the final Building Bridges Initiative Report submitted to President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

On the allegation that the church is used by politicians to sanitize corruption monies the association refuted such claims saying the church is not involved in corruption.
