MAENDELEO YA WANAWAKE CONDEMN VULGAR TALK IN POLITICS

The Organization MAENDELEO YA WANAWAKE early this morning during a press conference held at MAENDELEO  House Nairobi condemned the vulgar talk by politicians during political rallies politicians continue to hold ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Speaking during the press conference the Organization’s Chairperson Rajan Muiu called on the Independent Elections and Boundaries commission to observe election rules and take action on politician who continue to make inflammatory statements which may cause instability in the country.

DEMOCRATIC ACTION PARTY OF KENYA RECEIVES DEFECTORS FROM FORD KENYA AND AMANI NATIONAL CONGRESS PARTY

The Democratic Action Party of Kenya led by Party leader Hon. Wafula Wamunyinyi Member of Parliament for Kanduyi constituency, Hon Janet Nangabo, Women representative Trans Nzoia County, Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial Aspirant George Natembeya, Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa and Deputy Party leader Ayub Savula late yesterday afternoon at the party headquarters in Kilimani Nairobi received defectors from Amani National Congress Party of Kenya affiliated with Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya affiliated with Moses Wetangula.

The Defectors include Erick Makhoha (ANC), Justus Shiyundu (Ford Kenya), Rodgers Okumu (ANC), James Mata (ANC), Albert Wasonga (ANC), Oloo Nangala (ANC), Anne Olum (ANC), Richard Nasongo (ANC), Abel Mutimba (Ford Kenya).

EXTINCT MOUNTAIN BONGO TO FIND HOME IN MERU COUNTY

Nairobi, Kenya 18th January 2022

Meru County Government led by Governor Kiraitu Murungi, Deputy Governor Hon Titus Ndichu and First Lady Pricillah Murungi early yesterday evening officiated the launch of the the Second edition of the Mount Kenya Mountain Marathon. The main aim of the Marathon according to the first Lady Pricillah who spoke during the event is to raise awareness on cancer prevention and raise funds to establish infrastructure which would enable early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer.

The funds raised will also be used in creation of a sanctuary to house the mountain Bongo which was native to Mount Kenya but has since gone extinct in the area. The Mountain Bongo said Governor Kiraitu Murungi , “will be flown in from Florida according to the governor at a cost of Ksh160 Million. This the Governor who also spoke during the event said will open up the mountain and Meru county as a key tourist attraction

The Marathon is scheduled for 26th February 2022 and will also be used to raise awareness on climate change in addition to establishing climate change initiatives in the county

FORMER HOUSE HELP LAUNCHES BID FOR NAIROBI GOVERNOR

Business woman Agnes Kagure yesterday afternoon at the Kasarani Indoor Arena declared her intention to vie for the position of Nairobi Governor in the forthcoming general elections to be held later in the year.

Speaking during the launch the former house-help pledged to improve on the safety and security within the City, reorganise the city public transport system, create 200,000 jobs annually, expand manufacturing and create entrepreneurial opportunities for the rising unemployed youth. The business woman also pledged to increase efficiency in the supply of water in addition to protecting the environment through sustainable climate change initiatives.

Other candidates who have declared interest to vie for the position include Nairobi Senator Johnston Sakaja, Westlands member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Richard Ngatia, Former Starehe Member of Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
